I would really like to adopt a white tiger for my bf for Christmas as they are his favourite aniaml and i'd like to get him something original and special - something to remember for our first christmas
I've looked on the internet and am really stuck.......
I like the idea of adopting one in a zoo so that we can go to visit it and see it in the flesh, but then i also think adopting one in the wild is a good idea so that my money is being spent to help this endangered species.
PLease help:

Has anyone does this or something similar and can give me some views?? Or anyone who has been to West Midlands Safari Park and can tell me if its worth a visit or not??

Many thanks.

Hmm Iam at a loss but I prob would go for the one in the wild to protect them :-)

Does he drink coffee? If you adopt the tiger you could put its pic on a coffee mug....

Iam into doing coffee mugs this year- don't no why lol Having one made for my mom's hubby of him with his son (my bro) and my bro's son (his grandson)- I am also doing one for my hubby and him and our son dressed up at halloween...

Not quite the same but we adopted my auntie an otter one year in a sanctuary, I think it was done through WWF.  She's otter mad so she loved it!  The gift pack came with a stuffed toy otter, calendar, a few photos & lots of information of how the money would be spent.  I'm not sure about white tigers though but I personally would prefer it to be adopted in the wild or in a sanctuary helping them, can you be certain the money donated to a zoo will be used where you want it to be!

no idea about that park but i would say that most zoos/parks with breeding programs do get involved in trying to help the wild population as well. so if your helping support a captive tiger they can put more money into helping wild ones :)

West Midlands Safari Park is well worth a visit, but i think the South Lakes park is better. They feed the tigers by putting the meat on top of telegraph poles, which they have to climb up to get. They feed the lions in similar ways (but lower down) and do a lot of enrichment and talks about the animals. They also do a LOT of conservation. The link for adoption is http://www.wildanimalpark.co.uk/wildlifepark_adoption.asp and it seemed to be £10 for in the park and £20 in the wild. The South Lakes park is a wonderful visit - they have lemurs free ranging around the park, and you can feed them and feed emus. I know I'm a big kid, but it was great!

Thanks for all the suggestions but it really must be a white tiger which is why it is a bit of a pain.
I think i would like to go for the one in the safari park because it will be a real treat to go and see it in the flesh but could also donate some money via the WWF (not the wrestling organisation!) for the animals in the wild.
