Ok, Im looking for a new pup to join our family and I am taking my time as I want to show any potential pup that comes to join us. I am growing increasingly frustrated by not one or two, but several, no many so called accredited breeders totally slagging each other off! Sorry if im using strong words here!! Why cant the dog world all accept that just as in humans, we all have our faults!! I have upset so many breeders already by simply saying that their pup is not for me, I thought we all had the best interest of the dogs at heart, not trying to knock eachother off eachothers perch. Come on dog world, I was told its a bitchy boxing ring but our love for our dogs should not make us all hate eachother. And for everyones information, I have a 16 year old heinz variety bitch who is quite simply the best!!

not everyone hates everyone....maybe each has a very good reason for thinking the others pups are not for you....I could certainly say the same about another breeder who like me is accredited.

Is this a new breed for you or are you already established and experienced in this breed?

I know where you are coming from!! However I'm talking 7 breeders, all corners of the country, all having a direct shot at one and all

I know my breed very well. They have owned me for many years!!!

Mmm.  I would know exactly which breeder and line that I wanted a show potential puppy from without contacting 7! :)

I had a call from someone who wanted a puppy ( dont have any) from health tested parents -especially ones who have been MRI scanned for SM. The person had already phoned several big names who told her that MRI scanning wasn't neccessary... I know these people and disagree with them...but we are all entitled to our own opinions and some of the people have been in this particular breed much longer than me.
They are allowed to disagree with me and me with them.
It is for the researcher to get as much information as possible and make their own minds up ......surely.
Perhaps some people are just not good at disagreeing without allowing others their own opinion.

It's not the dog world. It's the same in any competitive field.  You can mention a name of a handler you like and you will hear someone comment on have you seen them in the ring? And what a dreadful handler they are. Be it obedience, agility, conformation!  Or any other non dog field! I attended an art exhibition and the artist exhibiting his work made exactly the same type of comment about anther artist! There are always people like this. You just have to laugh and think hell if they think that about someone you admire what would they be saying about you!

Their attitude has to be taken simply as a reflection on themselves and not on other people/breeders/handlers etc. It's like politicians. It would seem sensible to promote themselves by telling us all their good pints but instead they do it by pulling down the opposition.

Some people though are really single minded and become very good at what they do because they believe 100% in their goal and they can't see any good outside their ideals - and this is not PC and not at all nice, but it is what makes them so very good at what they do.

There is a proverb which says
" extinguishing anothers flame does not make your own grow brighter"

.... easier said than done though when everyone is just human and full of doubts and hang-ups.

I have seen this modus operandi in all walks of life.

aaaagh! you could at least have corrected the 'pints' lol. .....oh dear it really looks too much like I've had a few too many!
;)

Wouldn't have noticed it Tenaj if you hadn't pinted it out :-) :-)

my sister had this the last time she went, she very suprised as she alwasy uses the same place so she answered "you cut my hair", LOL the hairdresser was mortified!!!!! I expect the hairdresser will now make shure she remembers who's hair she's cut before she asks that question again!!
