Hi
have recently started my dog 5 year old peanut on nature diet. I want her to have a natural healthy diet and like the sound of the nature diet range. She has been on it soley now for about 7 days but im not sure if its suiting her that well. The first day was ok but since then she has either had diahorrea or really bad wind! i came down this morning to two big sloppy poos by the back door. Is this just her adjusting to a new food or do you think its just not suitable for her?
She has had a mix of food lately. I wanted to feed her a raw diet but i really struggled with giving her raw bone, so thought she would be lacking in essential minerals etc if i stuck with feeding raw but gave her no bones. So i looked into nature diet and now she has tummy upset. She seemed to really take to a raw diet and loved the veg mix. Does anyone know if a bone supplement i can add to the food? I was feeding anglian frozen mince and adding veg/ fruit.
please help because i want to do the best i can for peanut!

Hi
Try and stick with it, a raw diet is so good for them.  Have you tried her on chicken wings? Why are you worried about bones?  You could feed a mince that has a large bone contents in, I use TMPS they sell a large selection of mince.  You could grind the bone but you would need a machine and they are not cheap. I dont know of any bone supplements but do know that raw meaty bones are a crucial part of a successful barf diet.

Eggshells can be used, dry them and grind to a powder. If I remember rightly only a small amount needs adding to the food. If you join this group http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/BritBarf/ there is a load of information you might find useful and you can always ask questions.
