I have a 14 week old cocker spaniel. She has a really smelly mouth and saliva. When she licks you her saliva leaves a strong smell on your hands. I feed her on purina puppy, she came from her breeder on this. Do I need to change her diet. Her teeth and mouth look healthy. Any ideas
My girl had a bit of smelly breath when she was teething, the blood from her gums was pretty excessive as she chewed all her toys to pieces. Could it be that? Have you tried any kind a dental chews etc? And does she have any hard chew toys to really get her teeth into? HTH.

It could be that she is starting to teethe, and the smell is blood and extra saliva in her mouth. My puppy had quite a stinky mouth/breathe while she was teething but as soon as that passed she was smelling sweet again.
She does have plenty to chew on and the smell seems to be worse when she has been fed, however it does not smell of the food.
do check that she has n,t Spaniel Mouth
this is the folds at the side of the bottom lip collect food and if not cleaned really stink
