Our 18 month old cocker, Beano, was clipped in late spring this year. He is now lovely and fluffy again, but his lovely fluffiness is also creating not so lovely muddiness in our house. Is it OK to clip him short all over this late in the year? Personally, I would rather he was allowed to run around in the garden and on walks without being covered in mud and taking hours to dry... do you think he'll be happier with a short coat and not permanently drenched and muddy? Or is it OK to clip him short again even though it's getting chilly?
I realise that Cockers are supposed to have long feathers on their legs and underside, but the constant drying and re-wetting and re-muddying are annoying him and us!!
