I’m currently looking for two boy puppies, one each of Black & Tan and Ruby, as companions for my existing Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. I currently have a Tri and a Blenheim – both boys, aged 12 years.
I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has puppies available in these colours - ideally ready to join their new home around 31st August.
I can be contacted at JAE@dial.pipex.com
Many thanks

It sounds as if you have had two pups together before. don't be surprised though if breeders are reluctant to let two go together.

I found your comments re 2 puppies from the same litter interesting.
I've asked a number of breeders whether it's better to obtain 2 puppies at the same time or buy them separately (with time in between), and to date the advice I've received is that provided you are not planning on breeding them, it makes no difference.
Having read the article posted on this site re buying 2 puppies from the same breeder, I can understand the reason for your comments.

I have found with my breed. Having two out of the same litter can
be your worse nightmare. They tend to egg each other on, bond
with each other. You have to take extra time out to train. As
both need training. However when they are together they tend
not to listen as they are too busy chasing each other.
Honestly, one pup at a time is a lot easier. I am talking from experience.
But not with Cockers.

just got to say that description sounds just like my identical twin nephews aged 7 ! :D

As puppies are so time consuming and demanding, most people fel it best to have them one at a time for them to get the full benefit of your time in the formative period. Two may not be quite so hard to manage with a small toy breed! On balance though I think you get the best relationship and pleasure from one pup at a time, with about two years between. You then hopefully have a well adjusted young adult for the next pup to play with and be set a good example by.
I think parents of twins given the choice would much prefer to have had their children one at a time at least at the baby stage!
