Does anyone know where is cheapest to get this from online - or does it vary? And is there anywhere that does discounts if you buy a lot, and if so how much do you need to buy? Thanks. :-)

http://www.berriewoodwholesale.co.uk/ is the cheapest I'm aware of.

They have a three tier pricing system - if you spend under £50, over £50 or over £100 - each one is cheaper than the last :)

I am on breeder service with Nature Diet but Berriewood rates at the moment work out slightly cheaper if you purchase over 100.00 product before VAT. That works out at approx 10 cases standard product or 14 cases of the breeder pack.

Excellent. Thanks both. :) What's their delivery like?

Reliable, although I think you may have to check they deliver to your area. :-)

We order ours from vets uk and they are very cheap compared to some. Its free delivery if you order a few cases. We only ordered 4 cases and it was free. They deliver within three days too.

Berrewood delivery is very good - they cover most of uk (Frozen products have restricted dilivery area only)  I am in NW and order to delivery is usually max of 3 days when I order on line. Delivery charges based on quantity but even after adding deliver charge costs are cheaper for ND at the moment than from breeder service direct.

I contacted Naturediet today as my normal supplier seems to have removed Chicken and Tripe and Optima Gold from their website and after looking at other sites they seemed to be in the same boat. They replied and have said the following:-

"Unfortunately we have stopped making a number of our recipes including the original, the chicken and tripe, the lite and the gold range. The reason for the change is because we have had to take tripe out of all our recipes, as we were finding it hard to get hold of, especially in the quantities of which we needed it. Also there has been an increase in the cost which would have made the prices of our products considerably more. The new recipes we have added now are rabbit and turkey with rice and vegetables, sensitive with salmon and prawns, and senior/lite also with rabbit and turkey".

Which is a bit of a bummer as my gang do not like the Naturediet Fish recipes at all - so they can only have 3 flavours now rather than 6:-(

I thought the reason they discontinued the tripe was that some people had complained that they found the smell offensive......ridiculous!!!

There is another thread suggesting that dogs would not like rendered fat because it smells horrible, despite the contradication of it being claimed it is added to make it more palatable!  I suppose it is the modern way of prefering all food to be sanitised and as least like the flesh it comes from but dogs really do not share our sensibilities about these things thank goodness.

It is not always thank goodness considering some of the things that they show a penchant for eating.... BLEURRRCH!!! And I won't go into detail!!
