my bitch had her second litter on friday, everything went as planned 4 puppies all doing fab,

mum as been great eating, drinking feeding pups ect,
up until through the night last night she was crying all night walking up and down trying to get in to wordropes ect the same as she did before she had the pups,
stoping to eat, drink and feed the pups
she has no smelly discharge she has been to the toilet a few times and it seems fine.
anyone had this happen to their bitches? should i be worried?

Maybe she is having discomfort from her womb contracting back to size ?  But if you are worried, just call your vet and speak to them, they will be able to advise you. Is this her first litter?

Yeh, my bitch gave birth on the Tuesday and yesterday when she was let out in the garden for a wee, she started to go in the bushes and to dig a nest!  She did come back in when I shouted on her but ever since, she tries to do the same each time she goes into the garden.  Other than this, she is eating and drinking well and is feeding the pups with no problems (although she did start with a little mastitus and is now on antibiotics).  She has stopped panting now so hopefully its not because shes in any pain still from her womb but who knows.

Hi. I had a bitch do this not long after having pups, always digging around behind furniture and stuff. Turns out she was just a bit of a protective mum and when i moved her to a quieter area behind a table and hung a blanket over like a cave she was very happy. Your girl may just be feeling a bit exposed and just want to protect her pups. I had to put one of mine in my walk in wardrobe once..lol. My little girl gave birth a week ago and is happy with her bed tucked by side of sofa. Hope she settles down soon :)

Hi,
Yes, I had the same, it was worse after her second litter, Digging the mable tiles in the conservatory, till they were shiny. She had also had a c/section though. It is pain. Just keep an eye on her, to make sure that is all it is.

my girlhad her pups 2 wks ago and  was doing this a few days after she had pups the 4th day was the worse she dug a huge hole under my decking so we moved her and pups to a quieter space and drapped a blanket over the whelping box and she has been fine since occasionaly when she goes she still goes under decking  i read somewhere that they dig a second hole after the litter is born as an emergency home incase they feel really threatned.
