i have not been before ,so i was wondering how long before the ferry to Belfast leaves should i be there for?. And how long is it to the show once off the ferry?

I am not 100%, although I live in Northern Ireland now. I have looked on the route planner and it says the showground is just under 5 miles from the ferry port. So it shouldnt' take long, although traffic can be a bit busy in that area.

Are you getting the fast ferry from Stranraer? If so, I think you have to be there an hour before leaving, but you might like to check by phoning the ferry company, as I am not 100% sure.

You have to be there a " MIN" an hour before and I am sure it is 15-20 mins at the other side.

We get got both the Ferry from Stranrar and Birkenhead ... we always get there early ! Some times the boats can be delayed ... on way home there is an '' early boat '' its around 4pm and a late boat around 8pm we always go for the 8pm boat just in case you do get BOB and need to stay.

The Birkenhead ( over night Ferry ) is GREAT ! and 2 mins down the road for us, The Journey up2 Scotland and makes life so easy to sleep on the boat ... Our main worry was the Dogs but they were all fine and slep the whole way think its cause its an over nite ferry,
