My Lhasa was mated 63 days ago and has looked pregnant all the way through. She started to get 'wide' first and then it dropped so there was a lot of tummy underneath her. She had produced a discharge all the way through and her teats are swollen and she has milk. However, in the last few days she doesn't seem to look so big. If a false pregnancy had occurred wouldn't I know by now? I have heard of bitches re-absorbing thier puppies but surely this would happen long before the 63 days? Lhasas don't normally have very big litters so is it just possible that she is 'hiding' them well? Please someone say yes, we will be so disappointed if she isn't carrying puppies after all!

You could always take her to be scanned.
Bitches although mated on a certain date it doesnt follow that the bitch was actualy fertile on that daytherefore the pups could have been conceived anything up to 4 or 5 days later.
i would say get her scanned to know for sure.

I had one bitch once that was 5 days late. My breed is Weimaraners
a little bit different to yours.
If I was in your shoes and really worried I would go to the vet for him
to confirm.
They do blood tests now to check for pregnancy but I really do not know enough about it yet as its new on the market. I did post this question last week and some people believed it worked others did not.
