Jack was castrated during the last week of July. Chels has just come into season (first time).....Is she at risk still from him or is he likely to be clear now?

Thanks Karen :)

I'd still keep them apart. He's less likely to be fertile but the urge to mate will still be high, and you don't want to risk either of them getting hurt.

Like JG says the risk is also injury if they mate and tie without anyone being around. ALL my neutered males still do. I've had a nightmare this week with one of my male dogs tying with an in season bitch, the bitch panicking and trying to pull apart and the first thing we knew about it were hearing screams. That male was neutered 2 years ago and up until now has NOT mated bitches in season -now suddenly he does. I'm coming to the conclusion I can never have any male, neutered or entire, around a bitch in season.

Thanks for thae advise both of you.
I guess that means the fun starts.......not.
The last thing we want is any kind of distress for either of them.

Karen :)
