TBH welshie I'd not be overly concerned :)
Adults, particularly males, seem to have a bit of a problem with new squeaky, bitey, nipping, noisy arrivals LOL. Initial growling is a very mild vocal reprimand and for the first week or even few weeks this may be sufficient to exercise doggy discipline. Pups are basically "on licence" for around 4/5 months with adults and when told off it is rare for damage to be done (certainly with same or similarly sized breeds :) )
That your older dog has 'caught' the pup is not necessarily a huge concern either - even the mildest mannered dogs when displaying 'watch your step kiddo' behaviours and would never intentionally harm the puppy can and do (albeit rarely) cause minor breakages to the skin. Most notably to ears and muzzles :)
He's only 'gone for her' three times and caught her ONCE - in the grand scheme of things that's honestly not a big issue between same breed / different s@xes in particular :) Being honest, if he
really meant to cause her injury he'd have done it before now and she would have needed veterinary intervention. IMO and IME this is all part and parcel of your pup being told that her puppy licence is on very borrowed time and she will require to temper her behaviour if she wants him as a buddy. It will work out :)
If it's any consolation my pup's licence expired some months back and he's still being reprimanded on an almost daily basis LOL!
