My friend at work is going to a confirmation soon of an eleven year old boy and was wondering what to take as a present ?? being not very religious none of us here have got a clue so I promised to ask on here as you guys have a wealth of knowledge between you :)

Boys are going to be a bit more difficult than a girl would be & his age also adds to the problem...maybe something like a book, maybe chronicles of narnia, something he will appreciate now & when he gets older.  Should be something he can keep though so not just a new toy or game.

How about a wristwatch?  There are some good 'names' that aren't too expensive and you can often find great retro watches selling on eBay as unused old stock.  All the 70's stuff is very fashionable at the moment but not too pricey and early LED watches are apparently the new collectable...

Alternatively antique silver pocket watches are very good value.
