As you may have noticed on previous posts, I am hoping to get a clumber in the new year and have now found a breeder and booked a puppy. Now the OH is making noises about working it. Any suggestions on where to get more info on working spaniels and how to get started. We have several shoots locally and I have emailed a local gundog club but any other suggestions gratefully received. Sam.

does your OH shoot or beat already? he needs to get involved in that 1st I would have thought....I have never heard of someone working a dog who isnt involved in some way before hand.

He can join one of the local gundog clubs. He'll have his work cut out a bit with a Clumber.  You should hopefully find a club that can give you all the help you need.

Was about to PM you about a litter of working ones available now.

If you do a 'Google' search on working clumbers there are quite a few links to help you including the Working Clumber Spaniel Society who should be able to point you in the right direction.

If you want to work your clumber you would be best to try and find a working line to get your pup from.
