I have had my lovely  Sheltie puppy for one week.  She is gorgeous, so pretty and friendly.   Apart from the usual difficutlies of housetraining and ny two other dogs being jealous all has been as you would expect (fairly manic).

However yesterday afternoon Isla started to have diarrhoea.  Got worse and we were up all night cleaning up and then she vomited a couple of times.  By 6 am it seemed to have subsided a bit but she wouldn't drink any water and she seemed tired and not herself.  So I phoned the emergency vet who told me to take her along.  Upshot is that he says she has gastro-enteritis which could be caused by a bug or picking up some rubbish.  He said her condition is not too severe but due to her age and her not drinking he recommended she be kept in for the day or overnight to be re-hydrated and have AB treatment.  So this morning we are without our lovely girlie but at least she will get the best treatment at the vets.  They may let her home later if she shows signs if improvement.

So fingers crossed for little Isla.
