Hi all, a friend of mine is moving to Bantree in southern Ireland, she has a alsation x akita, she wants to take her with her is there any laws vacc or anything that needs to be done for the dog to be able to go with them?
Thanks in advance

I assume you mean Bantry in County Cork?

There are no banned breeds in Ireland but there are some breeds that are subject to restrictions. Your friend's GSD x Akita is classed as a restricted breed under Ireland's Control of Dogs Regulations ( as the Akita is one of the named breeds and includes any crosses of the breed).  The dog will have to always be on a lead and muzzled in public. Bit of info on the website of Cork Co. Council.  Your friend might wish to call the local Council for further information on what the implications of owning a restricted breed might be.

There are no additional vaccinations that are needed to bring/keep a dog in Ireland.
