I dont want to sound thick, but I normally feed my dogs on complete food and give them the odd pouch.  My question is, for a dog of 10kg it says to feed 5x150g pouches a day, and for the dry complete food 170g a day.  750g of moist food yet only 170g of complete.  Can anyone explain?

Water, which makes wet food wet, has no calories and isn't counted in the nutritional value. You'd need to calculate the dry weight of each to compare. Your moist food will say what the moisture content is. For example if it was 80% then the food would be 80% water. In this example 750g of wet food would equate to 150g of dry content. Dry food also has moisture but it's more like 8%.

I will use the correct daily ammount in dry food, and then add about half a pouch to the food to give it more flavour.. i dont bother giving them wet food as you have to give them SO much to give them all the nutrition they need, and thats not good for them or your pocket. Also if you use a good brand like Orijen or James Wellbeloved, you dont need extra meat whereas if you use a rubbish brand like pedigree or bakers, you have to add more stuff as there is hardly any meat in it and its mostly cereals to fill them up.
