Does anyone know if a penalty charge notice is still valid if it has the incorrect registration written on it ? Not sure if a photo was taken at the time- although does also state the tax disc number on PCN?

If it doesn't tally with the pnc then it's not valid.

No not valid but you will need to go to court for it to be thrown out.  I had something similar and they actually didnt put a date on the ticket so it wasnt valid but when I was looking it up if anything is wrong then its no longer valid including reg, no signature, incorrect vechicle type etc.
