Please help (again, sorry!)
My puppy was born on 1st November 2007, I have entered him in some companion shows recently and thought I was getting the hand of all the show lingo.  However, there is a bred club show coming up which is a one day show on 1st November 2008.  Can I enter Louis as a puppy or would he be classed as a junior as he is 12 months old to the day?

If he is 12 months on the day he can still go in Puppy, I personally would enter him in both, testing the water with the older youngsters against whom he will go soon.

Thanks for that, at first I thought he might be able to go into puppy, but with my usual bad luck I thought I had better check before making a fool of myself.

As it is a breed club show, there is bound to be a maiden class, I'd put him in Puppy and Maiden.

yes he can go in puppy but only put him in puppy if he still looks like a puppy.  If he is big then he could look oversized compared to a six month old so you my want to enter him in junior anyway.

some judges like that though so do your homework on the judge

You've also got the thought that if he wins one class and then goes into another and gets beaten then you can't go in for the challenge at the end..
But at the same time its good practice for you and the dog as well the more classes you go into.

I did this for a champ show and my boy was 12months on the day.
We didn't win either but got placed in both classes which was good.
