Charly my daughter gets her GCSE Results today, so please everyone send positive thoughts her way that she gets the results she needs and deserves after all the hard work she put in.
She has to go and collect them at 12 noon although leaving at 11 so she can be near the front of the que for them.
I feel so nervous for her.
Good Luck also to everyone else getting thiers.

Fingers crossed for her and my daughter too, she only did one as she's only 14 but she worked very hard for whatever result she gets and I know she did her best. Good luck to all xx

Ok this is what she got. I am thrilled but now she has looked closely at them she is dissapointed as she didn't get the A* in Buisness studies she had hoped for only an A  I've told her to stop being so hard on herself and feel pleased she passed every subject, She is pleased with her Maths though as she really struggled with that and was only predicted a D and she got a C.
Anyway in total she got

3 x A*
3 x A
2 x B
2 x C

Bevb that is really really good, you must be so proud of her!! I wish my results had been that good!

I hate the way every year the press start going on about how GCSC's & A Levels must be getting easier cos people are getting better results - could it not just be that students are working harder?!!! Annoys the hell out of me!
- By philly256 [gb] Date 21.08.08 17:44 UTC
Well done bevb's daughter...fantastic results :)

I agree gembo,

Truth is I know that my boys were worked harder than I ever was from primary upwards, so completely disagree that the exams are easier. I was never pushed through school I did well, but that was only due to having 5 brothers and we were all very competetive, ( I couldn't let the boys beat me :-D ) and I wanted to go to Uni.

I know my youngest brother's son is nearly having a break down with all the work in his last year of primary, school is much much harder, and more is expected.

It's blooming great when it pays off though and they get those results.

Well done to everyone, I know how hard you all work. :-)

When will people accept our kids work hard for their grades and the teachers are doing a really good job.

Well done to all your children.

I feel quite left out as for the first time for a very long time we have no one getting results this year.

Thankyou everyone, Charly was really chuffed to read your messages.
Gembo I really agree with you.
This last 2 years Charly has hardly left the house.  She had so much coursework etc.  She would get in from school, get changed and then start studying and coursework, often not stopping until midnight.  Holidays and weekends were much the same.  She would even eat her meals in front of her books.
The pressure she was under to strive to do well was enormous and we often had tears as she was worried about deadlines and the volume of work.
We had nothing like it when I was at school, no coursework no deadlines just and exam to sit.
Since she has left school it took her ages to unwind from all the pressure and its really only been the last two weeks I have seen the old Charly returning.
Mind you next week she starts 6th form so the work will begin again.

Wow well done Charly! Looks like your well on your way to your dream! I've just got my resuts, iGCSE'S's A* a B and a C, two A's at O level and my ECDL. I'm another who thought I'd get a D at Maths but got a C. So chuffed for both of us :-) Cant wait to start College! Well done Tessies Tracy's lad as well.

Congratulations to everyone who have done their exams...regardless of the results the fact you all did your best is what counts.

Well done

I wish my son's college would send his results through. He's been phoning for the last month and is always told "It'll be in the next few days". He needs to know to get his business cards done so that he can advertise properly. I'm livid!

Congratulations to everyone with exam results!
