Hi guys why do my dogs not weeing in the rain?  I was speaking to my neighbour and also a friend, who say both of their dogs are the same?  Anybody got any ideas?

I have one that won't 'go' in the rain unless I take her into my front garden where the dogs aren't usually allowed (no gates!) but the others will 'go' anywhere. No idea why. It is very frustrating at night when all I want to do is go to bed :-) Oh, she doesn't like the grass too wet either, so if it's been raining I have the same problem, but again she is fine in the front garden  Give her running water (ie stream) and she is first in, so she isn't scared of water........ :-D

My girl is like that. Loves water, loves walkies in the rain, but try and get her to go for a wee in the garden when its wet? No way. She puts on her most pathetic facial expression, i have to drag her out, and block her route back in until she goes. Even then she walks around like a puppet! I really dont know what the problem is.

No idea why but one of my dogs used to not like going in the rain.  All the other are fine so everytime I took him out in the garden raining or not I had to put him on a lead as when it rained he didnt even want to go out.  He loves having a bath, chasing the hosepipe and jumps in rivers etc so no problem with water.  After doing this for about 4 weeks last winter he got the idea and hasn't had an issue since.  I just had to stand outside in the rain with him for about 15 mins each time to make sure he went.  Also I purposely took him on short walks in the light rain to get him over it.

my older newf WILL NOT go out when its rainning, i think its because he cant see the point in getting wet if you cant swim in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of mine won't pee or do the other in the rain - or even if the ground is wet! :(  When she was younger I would stay out for an hour trying to get her to go.  Record was three hours, I was determined she would go but she didn't :( she went just inside the door as I walked in     From that day I threw all the toilet training books out and just kicked her out and didn't let her back in until she'd 'gone'  I had to stand in the bath to make sure (the only way of looking out of the bathroom window!) but she now knows that if she doesn't go she stays there.  Her daughter, I just put her out in the rain and didn't let her in until she was done, she now races out and does the necessary in double quick time ;)

Strangely, though both of them HATE the rain because they're made of sugar and won't walk even through a puddle, they LOVE playing in the water from the hosepipe   I can only think that the drenching they get from hosepipe water has strange magical powers!

this made me smile :) my older girl Leah isn't keen on wet weather, especially if the grass needs cutting, but they all know they need to "go"

funnily enough, one of the pups went to his family in Canterbury, and he would only go in puddles....or their local stream, his new Mum phoned me up in giggles telling me how he likes to stand elbow deep in water before widdling....

I believe he has now grown out of that to some extent, but still prefers puddles etc ;)

ain't they funny critters :)
