I am currently on the waiting list for a yellow Lab puppy (oooh so excited!) I was bought up with Labs and ADORE them....anyway I havent had a dog for a while and wanted to know any recommendations for disposing of dog poop.We have had a green dog loo in the past and it was a waste of time...are there any dog loos which actually work? or any other brilliant ideas about dog waste disposal.I have seem something which looked good and attches to your soil pipe but unforunately ours is boxed in so thats not possible.

any ideas much appreciated as i dont fancy my chioldren walking poop through the house IYSWIM :-)

As you've learned (like many others of us on here!) that dog loos are a waste of time, effort and money, you'll just have to pick up and either flush or bag-and-bin like the rest of us!

I wrap it in newspaper and put it in the wheelie bin.

I use the small compostable bags for dog waste at home. I use an old plant pot as a bin and a trowel for the scooping. My dogs don't produce much waste so I can get several days worth in one little bag that will compost down. I get biogradable poo bags from PAH for walks.

Our Council on their literature ask that dog and Cat waste is double bagged and put in the black bin with the household waste, in the same way nappies would be.

Good comment Barbara. My post looked like I put it in with the garden waste. Mine goes in household waste too.

Ours don't.  I wonder why they would want you to do that.  Are they hoping the bags will never break down and why not?
