I got a new laptop last week and all appears to be well apart from that I can't load adobe flash player onto it.  I don't know if it is because it is vista it uses or if it is because I use firefox rather than internet explorer. 

I get to the page where it says to download it and then save it and run it. I then get a message saying I must shut firefox which I do but it still wont run.  What do I do next???  I have even tried to trick it and shut firefox first but still no joy.  I went in through internet exlorer and tried to play an online scratchy and it was fine which is weird as it won't on firefox.  It is driving me bonkers!  Help!

What version of Firefox are you running? There has been various problems in various versions and for years I wasn't able to use Shockwave in FF, but now with the new Firefox 3 I find almost everything works that didn't work before. Flash works fine for me. (I have Vista as well.)

Hi, i have a problem installing in on to AOL it just dosent seem to like to install it, it says install complete, but it hasnt actually worked. But i have managed to instal it on ti Fire Fox, I downloaded, saved it and then closed fire fox, on your desktop you should have got a desktop icon saying, install flash, if you click this after closing Fire Fox it should work!!
So looks like i have the same problem as you but with AOL haha!

Thanks Marianne, I have finally done it.  I asked my local IT genius to watch me trying it and to troubleshoot what I was doing wrong - I wasn't doing anything wrong as it worked when I had an audience.  Flipping typical, wheres that roll eyes smiley when you need it.  Thanks again.

Vista is proving to be a bit of a pain as the sony ericsson phone software is not compatible with vista so having to use my old laptop too.  Grrr!

Dont install anything from disk onto Vista it dosent like it for some reason! There are drivers online you can download and use or just plug the fone in and it should pick it up and automatically and install the drivers.
