i have a query. i have been on sites such as prodog, looking at open shows for me and my boy, and was wondering how soon in advance you can phone to enquire about a schedule? for example, i have seen shows in october, november and december and was wondering if it is too early to phone?will schedules be available now?

Hi Suz

With Open shows entries usually close about 3-4 weeks before the show date so in most cases schedules are out a couple of months before.

There's no harm in asking the sec if you can be put on their list to mail out when schedules are printed.  You will find that societies will mail schedules to past entries so within a year or so you won't have to be on the schedule hunt.

Most of the Champ shows have schedules on either Fosse or Higham and it's much easier to enter online.

Some of the printers also allow you to download their schedules direct.  This one has single breed schedules available now for December and general open shows for the end of October.  http://www.penneypine.co.uk/

Also try these

Finally some of the Canine Societies or Dog Clubs give you schedules to download a week or two before the printed versions are available - just do a search for any in your area.  Even if you don't want the expense of printing the whole thing at least you can search for classes to see if it's worth entering.  If you go to ringcraft - they will often have copies of schedules quite early too.
