Hi Everyone,
Does anyone feed their dog Hills J/D and is it as good as the Vets recommend?
Thanks.

I/D and J/D are for different conditions. ;-)

Thank you for your response. It is always worth knowing that any of these prescription diets have worked well. Glad your whippet has a new lease of life, it's sad to see them so poorly.

I tried feeding a dog with JD but it didn't help at all. Think these things are always worth a try though as all dogs will react differently. I was advised that if there was no improvement after a month there was no point in carrying on.

Thanks Jan.

I fed this for a while and thought it helped, however we ran out and couldn't get any more for a couple of weeks and my lab was the same without it. So obviously it wasn't she was on seven seas glucosamine and chondrotin as well and with those I have been able to also take her off the metacam she was on.

Hi, I don't us the J/D, but Floyd is on the Royal Canin Sensitivity Control prescription diet, he looks absolutely fabulous on his food and he likes it.

hi
my old girl was on j/d for a while although ended up swapping onto royal canin mobility as she stopped eating it
she did improve but the only thing is i started hydrotherapy at the same time as the food so couldnt honestly give you an accurate answer as to whether the food or the swimming made the most difference

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for all your replies. I do give my old boy G & C supplements to his meal and I used to take him swimming although he never put much effort into it, I think he liked the thought of going on a little trip rather than actually doing anything! Unfortunatly we had to stop the swimming as he was struggling to hold his wee's during the night after a swimming session, it got to the point that he ended up weeing on the floor a couple of times even though I was trying to hurry with getting the door unlocked and that's not fair on him. Anyway I think I am going to stick with his normal diet at the moment as he enjoys it and go for the cartrophen injections. I don't want to do them both at the same time as I wont know which is working the best.
Thanks again.
