My girl is always highly protective of her babies, but this time she is even more protective!!  I am dreading people coming to meet them, because she barks so much when anyone goes near.  I can't expect people to not meet her, but I know I will find it awkward when she is barking and won't listen to me telling her to stop!  Anyone had any experience or got any advice for this?

never had this problem my girl invites everyone in to look at her babies she is a bit of a show off and a very proud Mum.

I always have Mum in the hall with the whelp room door shut she meets and greets the new families gets loads of cuddles I think this is when she (and I) susses them out ,I then ask them to put gel on thier hands remove thier shoes and ask Mum to show us her new babies she usually pretty accomodating but likes to stand over people (who are sitting) who have hold of any of her babies but as long as they stroke her too she is happy.

One of mine is the same and Carmen was a bit like that also with her litter that she had recently.  I showed her to the people away from her pups.  Actually we all went outside and played ball etc. with her as this is when she's at her happiest, so they got to see her good side.

Mine always Love to dhow off the pups but keep an eye on any that are being cuddled.

I personally would not want a pup from a bitch that over reacted to visitors that the owner had approved looking at the pups.

I would expect my bitches to accept and trust me to keep her and her babies safe.

Of course they would have spent time with the bitch first as I never show people the pups until the adults have all had a chance to sit on them.
