In more than an occasion, some that another follower, or representative of the Spanish Club of the Presa Canario has attacked against me and my presas canario dogs to emphasize (I) the importance of the judges of Spanish canine breeds at the time of judging the Presa Canario, in contrast of the judges of the club, that show after show in which they have judged (always specialty and monographic, that is where solely can judge) have favored, deliberately, and with vested interests, to certain dogs pertaining to exhibitors members or directors of the Club.
The judges of Spanish Canine Breeds, however (except two or three exceptions) nothing have to do with the Spanish Club of the Presa Canario Dog, their interests and corruption, and when they judge to the presa canario, do it with their own criteria and taking as guide (as it must be) the standard of the breed. Another thing is that, in opinion of some exhibitor who has not been winning with his dog, their work like judge is questioned (cases like these one are seen with too much frequency in all the exhibitions and with all the canine breeds).
And maybe in another occasion the judge, any judge, of any breed, has not been very fortunately at the time of granting the CAC, or CACIB. But if he has done it honestly, convinced that that one is the best one of the presented dogs, is necessary to accept willingly his decision, or verdict, that in any case (according to the Regulation of Judges) is unquestionable.

Clear that always is the “most clever” on duty –there are them between the exhibitors more of what it seems- that says: But this judge does not have the slightest idea, nor he knows the standard. These exhibitors, in addition to bad losers, usually are partial in their opinions, and little expert of the breed (in this case the Presa Canario). They subjectiveness takes them to see only their dog, and to ignore, to diminish and to unvalued the other people's dogs.

In these last days the Eurodog at Amsterdam has been celebrated, and the Presa Canario was judged by Javier Sánchez, judge of Spanish Canine Breeds of the Royal Canine Society of Spain. This judge to me deserves all the respect, and I am absolutely sure that in this Eurodog he judged the presa canario with the best will, honesty, and knowledge of the standard. Javier Sánchez is not the first time that judges presa canario, has judged them in many occasions. If the specialist judges of the Spanish Club of the Presa Canario judged the Presa Canario with the ethics that Javier Sanchez does (and not few judges of Spanish Canine Breeds) another rooster would sing to the Presa Canario Dog.

Once again I want to say that it is really sad that the presas presented in this Eurodog, just like all the presented in others eurodogs, or national, international, specialty, monographic exhibitions, cannot show their certificates of Free of Hip Dysplasia. Because it is a certain fact that most of them they suffer this hereditary and degenerative disease.
While it not been thus, therefore to use those presas for the improvement of the breed (as they like to say lately some related to the CEPRC) is obviously questionable.

EURODOG HOLANDA

En más de una ocasión, algún que otro seguidor, o representante del Club Español del Presa Canario ha arremetido contra mí y mis perros de presa canarios por resaltar (yo) la importancia de los jueces de razas caninas españolas a la hora de juzgar Presa Canario, en contraposición de los jueces del club, que exposición tras exposición en las que han juzgado (siempre especiales y monográficas, que es donde únicamente pueden juzgar) han favorecido, intencionadamente, e interesadamente, a ciertos perros y expositores pertenecientes a socios o directivos del Club
Los jueces de razas caninas españolas, en cambio (salvo dos o tres excepciones) nada tienen que ver con el Club Español del Perro de Presa Canario, sus intereses y sus corruptelas, y cuando juzgan presas canarios lo hacen con sus propios criterios y tomando como guía (como debe ser) el estándar de la raza. Otra cosa es que, a juicio de algún que otro expositor que no ha quedado ganador con su perro, sea cuestionada su labor como juez (casos de estos se ven con harta frecuencia en todas las exposiciones y con todas las razas caninas).
Y puede que en alguna que otra ocasión el juez, cualquier juez, con cualquier raza, no haya sido muy afortunado a la hora de conceder el CAC, o CACIB. Pero si lo ha hecho honradamente, convencido de que ése es el mejor de los perros presentados, hay que aceptar de buen grado su decisión, o veredicto, que en todo caso (según consta en el Reglamento de Jueces) es inapelable.
Claro que siempre está el listo de turno –hay más listos de turno entre los expositores de lo que parece- que dice: Pero es que este juez no tiene ni zorra idea, no se conoce el estándar. Estos expositores, además de malos perdedores, suelen ser parciales en sus opiniones, y poco conocedores de la raza (en este caso el Presa Canario). Su subjetivismo les lleva a ver sólo su perro, e ignorar, minimizar e infravalorar los ajenos.
En estos días pasados se ha celebrado la Eurodog en Holanda, y los presas canarios fueron juzgados por Javier Sánchez, juez de razas caninas españolas, de la Real Sociedad Canina Española. Este juez a mí me merece todos los respetos, y estoy absolutamente seguro de que en esta Eurodog juzgó los presas canarios con la mejor voluntad, honradez , y conocimiento del estándar. Javier Sánchez no es la primera vez que juzga presas canarios, los ha juzgado en muchas ocasiones. Si los jueces especialistas del Club Español del Presa Canario juzgaran los presas canarios con la ética que lo hace Javier Sánchez (y no pocos jueces de razas caninas españolas) otro gallo le cantaría al Perro de Presa Canario.
Una vez más quiero decir que es una verdadera pena que los presas presentados en esta Eurodog, lo mismo que todos los presentados en otras eurodogs, o exposiciones nacionales, internacionales, especiales, monográficas, no puedan ostentar sus certificados de Libre de Displasia de Cadera. Porque es un hecho rotundamente cierto que la mayoría de ellos padecen esta enfermedad hereditaria y degenerativa.
Mientras no sea así la utilización de esos presas para la mejora de la raza (como gustan decir últimamente ciertos afines al CEPRC) es a todas luces cuestionable.
