Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Cow Leg???

Hi everyone,

I went to the butchers today to get some chicken breasts and thought I would ask for a bone for the dog.  He said I was in luck and put it in the bag with my chicken.  I think he gave me a whole cow leg or something - it is enormous - ha ha!!  I have never asked for bones from the butcher before so i guess its the norm but it really make me laugh and I was quite shocked.  Do I just put it on the floor and let him get on with it? I really doubt I would be able to cut it up further, my knifes would never go through it. It may be a quarter of his body weight - ok an exaggeration but it is so big!!

Most butchers will ask if you want it chopped may be he was feeling tired to day, a tip is ask for marrow bones for the stock pot and they will chop it for you, mind you they may also charge but not usually if you have bought some meat.

lol you;d probably be surprised though, let him have a go. he's not going to hurt himself to a big bone, maybe tire himself out trying to destroy it though :)
