My girl had some beautiful puppies 12 days ago. They were born weighing 6 to 7 oz and they are now 18 to 22oz and thrieving. However mum seems a bit off this afternoon.

She is panting and seems to have a temperature ( I cannot check as I have loaned out my thermomiter to a friend who is expecting puppies soon). Her bare tummy is very warm and pink. There is no obvious redness or swelling round her nipples, no slavering, no wobbling and she is still eating and drinking. But does not seem right in the last 2 hours

Any ideas????

I'd keep a close eye on her, could be anything or nothing ???   could be Eclampsia/Mastitis

On the other hand, are you using a heat lamp/heat pad?   Could be she's just too warm??

Does she have a discharge? colour? smell?

Is there any way you could get your thermometer back? or get a new one?

Hello...Maybe being too cautious. It seemed to pass after a few hours. However she has got loose stools. Maybe that is with lal the puppy poo!!! Yuck. It is a huge litter for a small dog and they have grown so fast she maybe just struggling to cope. (cleaning, feeding and resting enough)

Maybe a check up is in order
