Hey All,

My 9 month Lab is currently eating Nutro Choice Puppy. I want to change her food as Nutro have got issues making the food and it seem to get more expensive every week (£42.99, 15kg). I dont particluarlly want to fees her on "Home Cooked" food due to the time and the worry i would have over lack of nutrients and such. So i just wondered if there was anything else anyone could SUggest? I read a previous post on Autarky, but im not too sure how good that is (£11 15kg bag in Costco).

So if anyone can give me any help it would be much appreciated :)

I have changed from Nutro for exactly the same reasons I decided to go with Royal Canin but other foods such as Arden Grange are highly recommended

I have noticed the food to be a lil pricier as well- but so far still feeding my crew it- I buy a 40pound every month or a lil sooner to feed my 4. The issue is due to the lamb n'rice and the price of rice is ridiculas here :(

I have always feed James Wellbeloved and was very happy with the condition of my dogs on it. However, I am moving to France next year and mailed James Wellbeloved to see if they had stockists over there. Well, they haven't so I decided to start seeking out other foods that I can get here and in France so that I can start the changeover. I liked what I saw on the pack of Autarky and all my dogs are now on it and have been for about 4 months. Their condition is still good and so I am happy with it. I cannot believe the cost as I was paying more than double that for James Wellbeloved.

I have changed form Nutro L and R to AG Lamb and Rice within the last 4 weeks. No probs at all with what goes in and comes out.

Me too.  We've been very happy with Nutro L & R but are changing to Arden Grange due to supply issues.  AG food seemed the most comparable.

The adult dog has changed already (no probs) but the puppy is staying on Nutro for a few more weeks as AG do not have L&R for Puppies

AG have some great information sheets and provide very clear information about when to change from puppy to adult food which you might find helpful.  It was very easy to join their breeders club for reduced rates and delivery is v quick.  Also if you ever get caught short, whilst away on hols perhaps, quite a lot of pet shops also stock it!
