do any of you experienced breeders take their pups out to shops like p@h to socialize them before they go to their new homes or do you leave this to their new owners obviously they would be carried but do they have enough emunity (sp) from mum to do this or is it risking them to much

From around 5 weeks onwards my pups were taken in pairs every other day on short car trips and then held in our arms outside shopping centres, DIY stores,  garden centres, supermarkets etc to accustom them to as many experiences of the sights, sounds and scents of every day life :)  Fortunately this has been during spring time so no inclement weather to deal with.  Equally useful is having them around in the garden for meals when neighbours are mowing lawns etc.
A lot depends on the time of year and how much assistance we have!

I bought a pet stroller off ebay £10 so that I can take them into the park and around the streets, schools, etc in the nice weather

they are soooooooo much fun really not looking forward to them going to their new homes i think i will be crying for a month.

i am keeping one but cant decide between two of the pups which to keep they are both show quality so leaving it down to a family from Ireland to chose.

yes, you will, its awful to be honest. do NOT wear mascara when potential owners come visiting, have tissues to hand and try and imagine them all at 8 months onwards terrorising you, makes it a bit better.

I hate the pups going and each time they do I say never again, but I do.

surely taking pups out this early opens them to infection i,ve always been told to change clothes wash hands etc if i,ve been near any other dogs and if you are out in public you are bound to come into contact with this problem . a few years ago i had a litter that picked up something they all ended up on a drip at vets cost me around £700 luckily they all survived but i am now extra cautious

They're pretty safe while they still have the maternal antibodies. After all, as long as you're not allowing them contact with strange dogs or go on the ground, they're at no more risk than when they're in your garden.

I do think that you have to be sensible and weigh up the pros and cons.  I used a puppy socialising tape on my litter and started at day 2 , I carried this on till the day they all left.  Inbetween time I did everything that I could do i.e. make noises and expose to diff things etc.  then on the other side of things, when I get a new pup I get it out straight away. Carrying it of course around the town and anywhere I go. Yes perhaps they are at risk but you have to be sensible about this.  A eight wk old pup is more at risk of contracting Parvo from a visitor carrying it on the soles of their shoes.  I would not take a pup out if there was K.C. about. but those early day are soooo important.  Breeders play such an important part.  the first 7/8 wks do make a diff to a pup.  then after that the new owner takes over. Unfortunatly they tend to wait until the pup is about 3 mths old before they do anything with it.  Even if they would do the basics like teaching sit/down/recall.
