Well my silly little girl has eaten something that has not agreed with her!
No diarhoea, a formed stool and three piles of sick was what I got up to this a.m.
She then managed to vomit 4 times more.
We went along to vets ( I was worried about foreign bodies). They are sure its a gastric thing.
So she is on 2 hourly water for the rest of the day and prescription diet tomorrow!
She has managed to do it again by going out to the garden and chewing at the soil!!
Do I keep her penned and indoors, or let wander as she pleases?
I feel quite cruel but would it be the best thing for her?
Karen :(

Poor thing :(
If she keeps eating things she shouldn't then it may be best to keep her in and only let her out on a lead/strict supervisoin(you have to be quick though) untill she's better, give her belly a rest from dirty things ;)
It's not cruel, it's to help her so don't feel bad, she can go back to eating soil when she's recovered :)

is it the soil she is eating or the grass as dogs eat grass to make themselves sick?
did you check out the sick (grose) to see if there was any part chewed objects in it.?
Strange to have a gastric problem and no runny p** usually it goes right through them and affect both end !
She could have grass stuck in her throat or even up her nose making her balk dont worry about going back to the vet if you are not happy with her progress (they can sometimes get it wrong)
I would keep a close eye on her dont let her roam keep her out of the sun and plenty of fluids with a bit of sugar and salt in her water in case she becomes dehydrated with vomiting plus the hot weather.

Thanks for responses.
A close eye is being kept on her...she tries hard but is very tired, so runs around a bit then has another sleep, she has been sick at least 10 times now, turning mostly billious now.
Still nothing from other end, and nothing in vomit to suggest any untoward eating.
A great idea about salt and sugar thanks for that.
Will keep you posted.
Karen
I know the vet dismissed the idea of a foreign body, but are you really SURE she can't have eaten anything she shouldn't? If she doesn't pick up soon, I would be asking the vet to investigate this possibility. Vomiting, with nothing coming out at the other end, sounds horribly like a blockage to me.

Well she does seem a whole lot better today.
She has eaten a couple of v. small meals and had her pro-biotic stuff.
It is a relief as I was really getting concerned as the day went on and she was still vomiting even the small allowance of water.

She wasn't coughing when or before she vomited was she?

Hi, no it came on overnight.
She sleeps in her open cage within her pen, she had passed a normal motion, then there were three piles of vomit one being in the cage!
She managed to vomit many more times reducing ammounts to bile.
Now though she is on the mend , thank heavens.
I was truly getting worried as she only just 3 kilos, not too big yet.

Thanks, just wondered if it were kennel cough as that can make the dog vomit.

She is fine now, a gastritis type thing must be something she ate.
Sorry to busy yesterday.
Karen :)
