We were there today, anyone else.
That was fun (NOT)
Picture this two day show most of the judging done just waiting for our group ( working ) and the other groups to be judged ( Terrier & Pastoral ) most of the commitee and all the judges gone to lunch ( been gone a hour and half ) , all the group winners from the day before have come back to compete for BIS.
All standing in a tiny tent, rain pouring outside, then the society decide to put the companion show in the tent aswell, tent now heaving , still no judges or commitee, security man comes in says that show has been cancelled , please leave NOW!!!!!
Still no commitee or judges.
Everyone trying to find someone to ask what is going on , total confusion , another couple of people shout please leave NOW!!
Then the group judge turns up , he has no idea whats going on, he goes off to find out , still no commitee!!
Then everyone gets thrown out in the rain and marched off to their cars and leaves.
Got a phonecall from a friend who managed to find a bit out, the show was cancelled due to weather and the dog show is classed null and void and no one gets there money back.!!

Crikey, glad I didn't make the journey on from Bath! I went to this show a couple of years ago and it was great, just shows what a difference the weather can make! BTW your girl seemed to take it all in her stride yesterday, George came home and took himself up to the office and curled up under my desk, and came down today at about three o'clock-think he might have been tired-poor lad.

That's disgusting.  I'd put a complaint into the KC about it especially if the judges etc were missing for over an hour and a half!

It says in the dog papers that it was cancelled because a little 5 year old girl was nearly killed by a falling tree and the local council closed the show for safety reasons.
Still sounded awful though - especially when no-one knows whats going on.

Yeah read that in DW also.  So at least now everyone knows why it was closed, which in reality sounds like the only thing that they could do.  Hope the girl is making a good recovery!

I have just seen it inthe paper , how awful , was not annoyed that the show was shut, just annoyed that no-one told us what was happening.

According to the local newspaper, the girl is ok, she has neck and back injuries but is recovering. I think the council officials didn't want to say anything incase people panicked. I don't think the committee knew the reason, it all happened really fast but agree someone should have been around over lunch.
