Topic Dog Boards / General / KC Responsible ownership campaign
- By Tessies Tracey Date 23.05.08 08:32 UTC
I emailed the KC with regard to the responsible dog ownership campaign, saying that I'd like to be involved, etc... then heard and thought no more of it...
I received yesterday a rather large box full of leaflets, free poop bags and posters.

Now forgive me for being a bit thick (but it's friday and I've had the week from hell at work) - but I guess these are for me to post through peoples letterboxes in my neighbourhood?
I suppose there's not a lot else one coulddo with them, but I just wanted to make sure!
Thanks

Or perhaps you could hand them to fellow dog walkers when out walking your own dogs, or leave some with your vet or take them to dog training club or give them to your local parish council? My local parish council publish a small newsletter on a quarterly basis and anything like that they put in each copy to be delivered to every household. You could give them out at a companion show to pet owners.

Good suggestions, thanks Polly...
First stop - the vets!
Next stop - local shopkeeper  (and then neighbour who owns the local greengrocers)

What about your local pets at home?  Mine has just had the annual photography competition, great opportunity to collar lots of dog owners ;-)

I like his idea, great for training clubs too. Couldn't even begin to tell you how amny people come to mine, and don't bring poop bags!!

My training club fines members 50p if they can't produce a poo bag when asked :)

Perhaps we should introduce this at our club, good idea to donate all proceeds to a charity at xmas

Yes - any fines go to a local rescue :)

Poeple should be shamed into picking up their dogs poo-
Just shout *Heres a bag to pick up your poo with *

No excuse for not picking up whatsoever

I have once had to ask fellow walkers if they have a spare bag - my dogs must have eaten a great deal the previous day and caught me out with the amount produced!!!  And I always carry loads of bags!

I wonder if you could put them near the poo bins on the park (if you have bins that is)?

I always carry loads of bags with me Lelly - if I then see people who aren't looking like they're gonna pick up I ask them if they'd like a bag.. often met with funny looks ???

edited to say - I have just been and left a few bags at the poop bin :-)

How about setting up a little stall at a school , or a local fete or something?
