I will try to keep this short.  I always put my puppies on Champdogs and I am really please with the way everything is handled.

Recently I was contacted by a friend and told that a rumor was spreading that I only bred for money and didn't keep a puppy.  Utter rubbish as I have kept one from each litter and the bitch is co owned so much less money in the pot.  Anyway enough about that.

I just put one of my girls names into a search engine, cos I like to read about the breed, and I came up with two unauthorizedly adverts as bad as EP*****  my litter is on there and the cheeky b***** had linked it to my Champdogs breeder site.

No wonder I have had heard some strange stories lately.  They have linked other breeders from here too, but I dont know if they have permission to do it.

Just shows you how easily a reputation can be damaged.

I am trying to get to the bottom of it as we speak.

I have been having a look see at the huge amount of dog adverts on the web, can't believe how many and soooo many puppies..anyway, one site says about something called scammers. they take details from reputable show/breeder websites, then make a site of their own with these pics etc, and then try the scam of selling puppies with a payment like I think worldpay or something, where people send their deposit or full pyment with out even seing the puppy and the people just take off with the money. (If they are buying a puppy like that then tough but thats a different subject)

Coukl you be caught up in this? I can send you the website I read this on by pm if you like, I don't really want to give it advertising on here.

This is quite scary, I have just done a google search on my Affix name and apart from coming up with my own personal website and of course champdogs, loads of others came up! Some in a different language but with def my website link and email address, I am going to get my hubby to check when he gets home as I am bit concerned I have not signed up for other websites! :(

That is very worrying.  A reputation can so easily be damaged by unfounded gossip.
I am off to do a search on our affix now.

Ditto- I've just googled  my Affix name and along with champdogs there were some foreign websites that I have never heard of with my email address -very scary

I have just tried to ring the online newspaper - one of the big ones - and they said they can only take emails had I sent one.  I said yes and they asked for the email address said to send it to a different one so I have little chance of getting the add removed as I don't think they are who they say they are.  Comes up again on another link identical looking set up based in Canada.  Definitely advertising my puppies with my details.  Have emailed them also to have it removed.

The best thing I can suggest is that our breeders put a note at the top of their litter page saying if you are not viewing this directly through Champdogs it is a fraudulent link.

I am just so angry now I hope no one has been scammed in my name

I don't have a champdogs website page, jsut the standard listing with link to my personal website and email, I have googled and not found any strange listings.  Is it someone targetting the champdogs database?

This caused quite a storm a few weeks back on my breeds web board. Someone had put the breed into a search engine and these horrid web sites had come up such as Ep***z and some other tacky loot like sites showing puppies for sale, it looked like the breeders were offering the pups for sale on these sites but on closer inspection it links it back to champdogs.

Not good though

The worst of it is you can click at button and make the breeder look fraudulent.  Thats the damaging part.

Looks like a sales search engine.

I noticed that one of the internet service providers (BT) also has such a search engine, it is quite common.  They are compiling a list from what's out there.

For information: Oodle is a search engine.
