friend went to see a litter of schnauzer pups tonight, 1 bitch left arrived at "A" farm never stated that in advert, ushered in by owner ,who then went to collect the pup, 1st look told her that it was a cross breed small head fluffy coat huge eyes, then she felt its tail , it felt like it had beeen docked all scabby at the end , she asked owner what happened she said mother licked it off lol,put puppy on floor it never moved should be running about for a 15 week old pup, owner brought it the  "mother" very aggresive puppy still made no movement, mother did not  aknowledge the pup, was told father could be seen then told he belonged to her daughter, asked if it was possible to view father told no,asked to look at kc she produced a kc paper, asked for pedigree told none was avaliable, friend left empty handed and upset.
im tempted to call the local paper its advertised in and the pdsa regarding its tail,.

any suggestions?

Needs reporting re the illegal docking at the very least.

Glad your going to report this person all  very upsetting. Must of been hard to be sit in this woman's house and not say anything.

Its such a shame that with banning docking more pups are now going to suffer from people doing it themselves with pups then getting infected.

I'm not a lover of docking for aesthetic purposes, same with ear cropping- we all know that it is wrong just to make the dog "look right" .
I'm just shocked that people still feel the need to do this if there are selling that dog on.

just remember the pdsa is a veterinary surgery only, its the rspca i think you need.

If a law is being broken surely it is the Police, the RSPCA have no legal power though they may give that impression.

The RSPCA though do take Private prosecutions for Cruelty.  It might be worth finding out if this is a Licensed breeder (contact the Council whose area she is in)  If so then a complaint may get someone checking if she is breaking an of the License conditions, she should be inspected by a Vet at intervals.

The other thing is how may people not in regular canine circles know about docking becoming illegal last year, did anyone see any publicity?  Many people will not even have known that it was no longer legal to dock themselves as that lawe came in a few years ago, also with no great publicity.
