JUST BEEN AT VETS WITH MY VERY PREGNANT GIRL {DUE 5 DAYS }SHE HAS BEEN PASSING BLOODY POO SINCE EARLY THIS MORNING ,VET HAD A LOOK AND SAID TO STARVE HER FOR 24 HOURS NO AB JUST STARVE HER .SAID PUPS WERE FINE ,BUT I DONT LIKE THE IDEA OF NOT FEEDING HER

How worrying for you :(  Your poor girl.

I don't think any of us on here can really advise you to go against what your vet has suggested.  He has actually seen her and is a qualified vet - we haven't and we aren't!  He obviously thinks that her system needs a rest and has given his advice.  If it were me, I would follow the advice and see how she is in the morning.  If she hasn't improved significantly then I'd be straight back to the vet.

I don't think it will hurt her. Rest her gut as well. I would reintroduce food carefully with a little fish/chicken/rice when you do restart her.
Natural yoghurt with biocultures might help too, just a little in a dish, to reline the gut.

Has she aten anything that may have causes it like splinters off a bone- how much blood in her stool? Is her poo formed or runny? Maybe she caught a bug or something. I too would listen to the vet and what they told you. Can you give her yogurt at all?

Not trying to worry you but our shepherd/collie we had years ago had blood in her poo and the vet put her under to see why. The blood was more a bright red and her stool was hard- turned out she had cancer of the colon (something like that), she ended up with tumors in her bum so we were recommended to put her on metamucil to help soften her poo- she was old and the op would have been a pricey one which she may not have made it so we chose to keep her comfortable the best we could...

No she's not eaten anything like that ,her poo is quite soft ,she is happy in herself just sleeping a lot ,i have gave her some yogurt ,i'll be watching her very closely
