this is just an question to ask your opinions on what happened to my baby...
i got my staff kacey through a friend who told me that a woman had a litter of staffy pups and she only had one left and needed to get her a home quick as she was moving away or she (kacey) would have been put in a kennel so as i love staffs anyway i told her i would have her as i cant bare the thought of puttin a puppy in a kennel anyway when i arranged to get her a man dropped her off to me then left and i didnt notice till i got home that the top part of one of her ears was missing and it looks like a really clean cut.
anyway the other day while i was waiting outside a shop for my mum i had kacey with me and a lady comes over and says yeh that was the puppy i sold you i can remember her becoz of her ear. and when i asked how come the tip was missing she replied oh she was born like it i found this very hard to believe but i didnt say anything.
but looking at her ear it really does look like its been cut but im thinkin who is sick enough to do that to a 10 week old puppy it has never bothered kacey who is 2 now but i was just wondering if anyone had an idea and why you think it was cut

Because she's evil???????
I can only assume, and it really is only an assumption as I don't know the person involved, they tried to crop the ear to make the dog look like an american staff, aka pit etc etc etc

Maybe somebody tried to crop her ears as they do in America. Can't see why the previous owner making up a story that pup was born like it otherwise. Also if it looks like a razor cut?
Obviously the puppy must of put up such a fight and been screaming like mad that they stopped so it never got finished?
anyhow if the dog had its ears mutilated like that the police would of been involved.
Lucky for the pup she came to you.  :)

sure sounds like a crop to me!  what sickens me, is that this pup probably didnt have any anesthetic or anything, so would have felt the whole thing.  Poor pup.

If she was born like that, there would be hair on the edge of the ear.  If it was a crop, no hair.

Poor pup, if it was a crop, then good thing you got the pup away from the lady when you did.  Couldnt imagine what else she would have done to it!

Or of course it could have been chewed off by an over enthusiastic dam after birth while cleaning up the membranes, though if it is a very straight edged cut????  Who knows.

Any young pups stolen in your area that had been tatooed?  Though I would think the pup is to young to have healed up etc.

Are you thinking that the ear had been been cut to remove the tattoo ? The whole ear would have needed to be cut off not just part of it
