my friend has got a welsh springer spaniel crossed with a border collie and is wondering on whether he might be able to stud him with any of the 2 breeds of wich he has got in the dog and also wants to know who might be willing to let him stud his dog with their bitch?

In answer to your questions No and No.
Sorry to be blunt but there are enough cross-breeds in this country without good homes without adding to the numbers by deliberately breeding more.
I can't imagine any circumstances where a responsible breeder would be prepared to use your friends dog.

I am also wondering why he would want to let a crossbreed dog be used at stud. Does he think that it will be of benefit to the dog? As has already been pointed out there are thousands of dogs already waiting for homes in rescues without purposly breeding more crosses to add to the situation.

Hi there, I can only say...forget it. Thats not meant to be rude. The fact of the matter is, nobody will want to use him. Even many show dogs, who have done well in the show ring, do not get many stud enquiries. I wonder why your friend wants him used at stud?

Always thought studding was an internal wall - mind boggles. JH
