my girl is in her last week! yipee!!..heres my question: whats the best! 5 star menu you would feed your girl on? this list to include after shes had pups too?? thanks!! minni :)

Personally I wouldn't mess around by changing her food at this stage as you don't want her tummy upset. The most important thing is to get plenty of good quality food into her after the pups are born and when they taking most milk from her.

My girls have Royal Canin HT42D for the first 6 weeks of pregnancy, then I swop them over to the RC Starter which she will stay on even after the pups are born, with maybe adding some minced steak, tripe etc.  This is the food I wean the pups onto, so they will get the taste of it through mums milk.

mine similar to SharonM, Minced / chopped steak, Tripe, cottage cheese, and I like to give her puppy milk with her meals during the last week of pregnancy and also while she is nursing pups.
Good luck with your girl, let us now how things go xxxx

yes im feeding her cr starter with either boiled egg mackrel or tuna and chicken..was wondering about the meat side of things..when you say minced steak chicken wings ect do you mix it raw with her dried food? also tripe how much would you give her? also puppy milk would you leave milk down 24/7 like you do with water? sorry to ask so many questions i just want to make sure she's as fit as a fiddle and give the pups the very best start.. thanks for all your help i really!! do appriciate it..:)

My girls have the special royal canine food too. You feed from the first day of their season until day 42 of preganancy. It has the right amount of vitamin e (for fertility) and folic acid (to reduce deformaties in pups)  added. You then swap onto Royal canine puppy food for you bitch from day 42 until they are weaned. This food is higher in protein etc. The pups are then weaned onto this. There tummies are use to it (as the compounds pass into the milk) already and it minimised the chance of 'the trots'.

Minni, I don't leave the puppy milk down 24/7, she has a pint with her breakfast in separate bowl, what she doesn't drink gets thrown away (but she nearly always drinks the whole lot!!) and then another pint with her tea.

I do mix my raw meat with the complete food, not with every meal though xx

Hi all - the RC food that some of you have said you use - are they suitable for small (toy) breeds - the biscuits aren't too big are they?

Thank you :)
