AHhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
I am so angry it is upsetting me and it really has nothing to do with me !
Women i know collects a dog last night she found in advertised in the paper to become a companion to her family dog.
This morning she phones me to ask if I want the new dog as her dog and the new dog are not getting on with each other!!  for goodness sake i told her, give them time, they need to sort out their peking order neither dog has ever lived with another animal before!  gave her some tips on how to handle the situation but she wants me to have the dog!
The breed is one that I do admire and would want, and if I was not thinking straight then I would have it but I have to be grown up here and think logically that I really don't have the room for another dog, even though it is a smaller breed then what I already have, but I am hoping to have another of my own breed this year so if I took this dog on I would end up having 5 dogs!

I am very tempted and am avoiding calling her back with an answer, have made a few phone calls to friends that may take it on but no luck yet.

the dog is very cute, cuddly and just a dream, why she won't give it a chance with her dog I do not know.

She told me that if she takes it back to where she got it from then it would end up being put in rescue centre.

I will give her the breed club details they may have a waiting list of people wanting this breed.
Still tempted though,! talk some sense into me please!!!! :) :)

Ok :).....don't do it! You have the breed you so obviously love, and one day you will have a lovely puppy to join them. If you wanted one of the breed you are talking about, you would buy one from a reputable breeder....wouldnt you ;) ) Help her, any way you can except don't have it! This person has really not thought out having a new dog but this is her problem, don't let it be yours! What if, never having lived with other dogs, it didnt get on with yours and a fight ensued? I know you feel bad for this dog, but put your time, money and experience into one of your own.

Help her rehome into a new home that is not yours :) :)

Calmstorm, thank you!! :) :)
I am seeing sense now, have spoken to the breed club whom have been very helpful.

The poor thing, has only a DLR certificate so more then likely from a Puppy farm :O
As you have said Calmstorm, if I wanted one of this breed I would be going to a responsible breeder and making sure all health checks had been done etc:

Gemini, I used to get this all the time, when I had my first dog, just because I was always seen with pups I was training for family, and just because everyone knew I just had one dog of my own to permanently live with me it was like a free for all for any waif and stray or dog not wanted.

I used to find it so embarrassing and hard to say No when I was younger and people honestly could not understand why I would not have their unwanted dogs, I was a dog person, only lived with one myself and obviously loved them because I was always training and looking after family dogs, it was beyond their comprehension as to why I would not want it.

And then like yourself you feel because you won't take it on, you have to find somewhere for it to go. **rolleyes**

At the end of the day, you have to just close off, say I'm sorry, but if I wanted another dog I would have one already and choose it myself. It is her problem to re-home it, it is her problem she bought it, and it is her problem she will not give it time. There are thousands of dogs in rescue now, because people implusle buy, you can't make all these terrible people put themselves on those of us who are good owners.

You'll have to get tough and turn into a hard nose...... er 'nice lady' :-D like me.
