Topic Dog Boards / General / Doggie walkers in essex area?
- By lotties14 [gb] Date 21.04.08 08:01 UTC
Hi I am just wondering if anyone know's of a great doggie walker/day care person in the Essex area, I have heard about Pet Pals, but is that just a franchise anyone could purchase?

PetPals are a franchise and there is one run by a couple in Witham at the moment, as far as I know they cover quite a large area, and that area is supposed to be exclusive to them.
If you go onto the PetPals website, it explains more.  I have spoken to Maria Riddle (who runs the Witham area franchise) a couple of times and she seems like a nice lady, and they have been in business for some time, so assume they have experience.
I have not used them, so can't really express an opinion on their level of service.
Best to give them a call, arrange a visit with your own dogs and see what you think.

I used their pet taxi service once, it wasn't cheap as they charge by the mile which includes their journey from Hatfield Peveral to your home, your destination and back again plus their standard fee.  I don't live too far from Hatfield Peveral and it cost me almost £30 to go to the vets 2 miles away and I didn't use them for the return trip!  The pet taxi was a nice clean and shiney van with cages in the back but I think next time I will ring around a few local taxi cab firms first.

Petpals in Witham provide a great dog walking service.. I recently started working with them in the last couple of months. I am not saying this because I work for them, but because its truly trustworthy. They are fully insured,as are their workers. Everyone has a crb disclosure done. I am not sure how much they charge for walking services, I am pretty sure its per walk. Feeding can also be done and other special requirements if need be. If you have any questions it would be best to contact Maria via e-mail or telephone. All this info is available on the web site. If you arent in the Witham area, there is also a Petpals chelmsford.

Hi

Sorry to hi-jack this thread but I too am in Witham. I walk a very elderly and anti-social lurcher cross. You may see me lurking behind trees and cars, waiting until the coast is clear!!
