Back in november Tess had a "fractured nail" and needed surgery to remove it, we took out insurance for her when we had her and oh so glad we did she, it was a small op anitbiotics, follow up appointment etc etc, well just received the bill wow £406.00. makes sense to take out insurance, just in case.

WOW! Expensive!

Same thing happened to my girl xmas eve. The vet and his assistance stayed behind after hours to do the small op, plus waiting an hour to make sure she was ok and awake enough after anaestetic. Gave me coffee whilst waiting and good naturedly jibing about 'we should all be in the pub'. Donated the excellent towel which they had draped around her to keep her warm, carried her to my car, antibiotics, dressings etc. Total cost £50. 17. Not worth claiming on a £50 excess. How on earth did they reach that price??
