tia was due to be spayed in 3 weeks time but had a split season so i knew to be carefull with her and keep her away from other dogs well due to the gales a large gap at the bottom of my fence that was covered with metal sheets has been uncovered again without me noticing well long story short the house that backs onto mine have a staffie dog and also a yorkie dog and tia got under the fence it was 1 hour before i noticed she had got out and now i am worried she may have gotten pregnant as both dogs may have had a go (not meaning to be crude ) i mite not only have to deal with her being pregnant but possible having x pups i am gutted because i was going to see someone about a pup next week and now i will have to wait and see what happens with tia i have sat and sobbed for a good hour or so i really didnt want this and had my heart set on this other pup

You could have the mis mate jab or still go ahead and have her spayed, that way if she is pregnant it will terminate a unwanted litter, Why dont you call your vet and have a chat about your options.

Go to the vet. There are a couple of injections she can have to prevent pregnancy, and then you can have her spayed as planned. Or have her spayed when her season's finished - not ideal, but better than an unwanted litter.

You also said before on another thread you would never breed from her as she is very small compared to other SBT's and your own vet told you that if you bred her you run the risk of losing her as she wouldnt be able to give birth to her pups and you could lose the whole litter as well as your bitch.
Go to the vets and get her sorted straight away as this girls life could be in danger if you dont get either the injection or get her spayed.

Do you know for sure that both these dogs are entire? If not go and find out-you may be worrying for nothing.
If they are, then I agree, speak to your vet asap.
If you were getting her spayed anyway then you didnt intened to breed from her so i would go with what the others say and terminate the pregnancy.

When I was breeding German shepherds my partner at the time took my bitch to be mated with an unsuitable male and at a time when I was not going to breed from her. He did this behind my back. Needless to say I am not with him any more . But I found out, and took her to the vet. The vet gave her a injection that stopped her getting pregnant. I did not know they could do this at the time so was very gratefully. Also I had a cat who got pregnant just before she was due to be spayed. I still had her spayed as she was too small to have kittens. I did feel guilty about the kittens she could have had but I know I did what was best for her

agree with everone else get her spayed. As you were going to get her done anyway I dont see the point of getting her jaged to prevent the pregnancy. It doesnt always work. At least with her being spayed it is done and you know there will be no pups.
Some what shocked she was in the garden alone and in season for over a hour before you realised what had happened.
Wendy
she always goes into the garden on a morning i was in the kitchen the whole time but was busy doing house work washing up ect
i have been to the vets and he wont spay her but has offered the jab i have to ring him tomorow with my decision

I hope Ashleigh that you came to the decision to have your bitch have the injection.. let us know how she is?

I thought your vet said she would have problems delivering a litter because of her size thats why you were getting her spayed? surely hes risking her life if he doesnt spay her, personally i would take her to a different vet.
i have known of two people that used the injection and had very bad result i would not want to scare anyone but the first dog turned nasty and had to be re-homed where not kids could have contact and the other more resent one the bitch was very sick and became emaciated spent five days in vets and had to PTS.
IMO if you had not wanted to breed from her as she is too small then you should have her spayed so this can not happen again.
hi i popped round this mans house last nite and explained what i think may of happened and he has told me she will not be pregnant as only one dog was out yesterday his staffie and he has been neutered and his other dog the yorkie is a bitch (i was sure it was a dog) so i neednt worry anyway let the vet know and he has booked her in to have a complete health check in 2 weeks and then he will give me a date for her to go in to be spayed so thanks evryone 4 your advice and no doubt you will have to keep me together wen she goes in for her op as i am one of these people that overanalise every thing and will worry myself sick
