Food and type is of great interest to me at the moment for my labrador show dogs.  I got one which is being fed totally BARF and the pup which is fed on kibble.  I am very pleased with the one on Barf but the pup condition could be better.     What food do you feed and what procedure do you have on a show day.

So that my labs have interest on me in the ring I tend not to feed them untill I get home

What is the routine of others and their show dogs

I feed each dog which suits it best - although TBH I find that raw food and home prepared suits them all whereas various completes never quite get the best of any and come nowhere close to suiting all :)

I don't have a food obsessive one in the pack (OK, maybe one in the making but that could change LOL) so feeding before, during, after or not at all makes little or no difference.  I don't feed offal near a show day so that having it on the day MAY help switch them on if pushed but apart from that they get fed a normal portion of raw food or Nature Diet the night before a show (and get breakfast too if not first in the ring :) )

Feet are trimmed a few days before (to allow for slight accidents to blend LOL) and nails are attended to every other day in the week or so before a show to have them look their best.  With a double coated and very energetic breed like mine, most of the procedure on show day itself boils down to a good run before entering the show ground and then it's all about grooming, grooming and then grooming some more - that's about it really :)
