The local paper have been round today to do some filming of me and the boys for their website so they can do a link from the Crufts story of us in the paper.  It started ok doing some filming of me and Fagan doing CaniX (although Fagan ran like a bit of a spud) then the boys were immpeccably behaved as they were told to sit on the sofa (something they arent usually allowed to do !!) Then I blew it all whilst being interviewed - my one chance of promoting showing and dog shows as a good thing and I stumbled over my words and forgot the point I wanted to get accross - what a muppet !!!!!!

He then did some filming of the dogs in their room and of their pedigrees on the wall and trophies rosettes etc.  After he had gone I realised there was a manky dog towel on the radiator in their room which would have been in full shot

I cant fault the boys though, they were so laid back about it all just laid on their beds watch him set up then just looking into the camera like real pros,  who says setters are scatty - just a shame their mum let them down !!

Oh, and the cats who I rarely see decided today would be the day they would stick to the place like glue, we got one in the caniX shot and then both of them wandering around jingling and hissing at eachother whilst he was doing the interview !!

He, he, very funny.  You'll have to bring your manky towel with you on Friday, could be a good luck symbol!

well, what can I say, you would have noticed Jenny that Fagan ran like a complete spanner (after getting his leg caught in the lead !!)  how embarrassing, in front of all those people and tv cameras and Fagan ran like bambi - throwing his legs in the air, true setter fashion !!!  Got out of the main ring hit the slippery floor and he went down on his belly crawling (he hates that type of floor) took me ages to coax him past it (wasnt sure if I carried him that I might get disqualified) but once we got outside it was great he pulled really well which I didnt think he would do without Alfie with him.  We didnt stop all the way round and Fagan ended up in the lake as soon as we had finished (should have seen peoples faces when I took him back to the Irish Setter benches ) not sure where we came yet as I went off to show Alfie during the presentation but I know we didnt come in the top 3 I expect some young spritely things won it !!

I look forward to seeing it on tv on Sunday, Ben Fogle really went for it with his dog (thats who you saw on tv yesterday Lea, with Matt Baker)

It was a great day, to be in the main ring with all those people watching was really amazing, im so proud of little Fagan he can be such a sensitive soul but he put up with all the strange noises, running on the road alongside lorries and buses and the CaniX dogs werent benched but we managed to get Fagan a spare end bench near Alfie, it didnt have an end on it and everyone passing stopped to stroke him, considering he isnt a show dog and not used to it he coped so well.  But boy were they tired last night, they didnt move an inch off their beds all night :)

Diane - my OH was there filming us running round the main ring, I will email you the footage when he works out how to download it ;)

Don't know how I did yet, times will be up in the next few days.  Unlike the spritely sporty ClaireyS I well and truly stopped a couple of times, but sure that we didn't show ourselves up tooooo much!  Anton really enjoyed it and I was thinking at the start I'd just leisurely jog round the arena but Anton had other ideas!

Heard you Jenny, I looked round and smiled, but couldn't see you!!  I asked mum how did we look and she said I don't know I was trying to take your photo!!!!

ClaireyS did you hear how the dog was? 

Well done to all who took part in the cani cross, my niece Ashleigh really enjoyed herself but it was hetic running from breed ring to the main arena, our young dog was really well behaved (well he did cock his leg whilst waiting for the presentations) but he coped really well.

first you could see Fagan in the background on the shot of the main ring.  Then you just saw us cross the finish line, behind another setter - fame at last !!!

Well done you two, sounds like you both did wonderfully! There's a report on the Cani-X on tonights programme isn't there - shall be watching out for you!

I know, Anton and I were nowhere to be seen!! Go on the Cani-Cross site mentioned and the results will be on there in the next few days.  DON'T YOU DARE LAUGH AT MY TIMING!!

the results are on there now - if it hadnt have been for that slippery floor we would have been up there in the top 4 !!  We came 8th out of 11.

YEAH, I CAME LAST!!!!   Not complaining 11 minutes isn't bad for a totally unfit person and her third event.  Couldn't even run at all 6 months ago so I'm happy with that.

my OH keeps telling me its all about personal bests not where you come - my problem is im too damn competitive !!!
