Topic Dog Boards / Health / Lab having fits?

I have a 5.5 year old lab who has ? fits ????
His head starts to jiggle about about his right eye then his jaw locks fast this last for about 5-10 seconds but since last thursday it has been happening regular throughout the day.  I have been to the vet who has given him steriods, antibiotics for ?ear infection plus antibiotics drops for ?ear infection and also pharbitone 30mg x 2 daily which he upped to 60mg x2 daily plus he did fasting blood test which has come back normal.  Thursday was a bad day he kept having these episodes all day friday he was fine saturday he was fine sunday afternoon he started again having these attacks sunday/monday morning he woke us screaming his jaw was firmly locked so i blew on his nose and managed to prise jaw open slightly all the time stroking and comforting him then he was ok jumping head continued but he went back to sleep.  Monday Tuesday he had lots of episodes of these attacks head moving (like a baby moving in pregnant lady's tum that visible) and jaw locking.   Been back to the vets he has given him some duiretics to take as well as all the other meds.  He suggested that we seek opinion of neurologist and possible MRI scan to help.  He is not insured but that doesnt matter as long as we get some help.
Anybody any ideas what this could be????  Desperate lab owner

Has the vet ruled out tetanus?

There are similarities to this story.

I added a link in the previous post, so have a look at that, and there's also this information. I'd certainly mention it to your vet.

The common name for tetanus is 'lock-jaw' which is what got me thinking of this possibility.
