Hi

My boy Jack (GSD) has been diagnosed with the beginnings of liver disease he is only 2, we are gutted and upset to say the least!

Thanks to a wonderful vet, Jackie, Jack is finially on some tablets that suit him and hopefully give him some more time.

The porblem is, he has come very wise when it comes to collecting wee samples, we've changes bowls, containers, my husband, son and even my mum has had a go, but as soon as you get anywhere near him he stops and walks off.  I need to get a sample for Tuesaday as we are at the vets.   Any ideas PLEASE.

Jane

Sorry to hear your boy is sick, a worrying time for you.  I don't have any experience with this but just had a random thought.  Could you somehow attach the container on the end of a broom handle or the like?  He may just feel that his private moment isn't so private anymore.  With a bit of extra space he may relax more. :)

could you maybe try with 2 people? one to walk, and distract at head end and a second person to sneak up behind and collect? even a small sample is usually sufficient. good luck!

Hi,

How about a soup ladle (sp?) tied to a long pole?

Good luck

Sorry to hear about Jack.
If he has a tree or something in the garden he likes to mark could you maybe put a container underneath it & hope for the best?
Good luck anyway

suggestion from Roy Hunter many years ago - put a broom handle or similar in the garden, when he is used to it fasten some straw round the bottom, when you need a sample hide a small tub in the bottom of the straw, the 'p' will run down/through and into the tub.

The bowl on the pole is going to be the next one i'll try.
Wish me luck
Thanks again
Jane.
