A freind of mine lives next door to someone whose dogs have contracted kennel cough. She is concerned as she has a couple of golden retreivers which she shows. Even though her dogs are showing no signs of kennel cough should she stay away from dog shows untill her neighbours dogs are fully recovered

Do her dogs interact with next doors? Sniff through the fence perhaps? If so then Yes, ideally she should stay away from shows for a couple of weeks. Kennel cough is airborne so it is likely her dogs have contracted it and are not showing signs yet.

No they dont interact with each other as he has a 6ft wall enclosing his garden and he kennels them at the bottom of his garden well away from hers, as he works them in field and trial. I thought I would ask anyway
