Topic Other Boards / Foo / I'm getting Skoda Roomster (2)

I am hopefully getting my new car next week, a Skoda Roomster 2 (1.1 tdi)0. I am sooooooo looking forward to it (sad really, I know).

Like someone said in the earlier "polo" thread, about having a bad feeling about a car, I did this last time, with my current car, Nissan Primera. I used to have a Skoda Octavia estate (loved it, no better car!!!), but it was getting on and I had had one major breakdown.
I went to see a Skoda Fabia at a garage, it looked lovely from the outside, but inside the seats, carpets, door trims etc were MUSTARD!!!!! Being a girl thing, I just couldn't have lived with that colour.
There was a Nissan Primera Est next to it, and I bought that, even though I had a nagging doubt in my mind from the start, I was a bit "talked in to it", which is unusual for me. It guzzels fuel (my Octavia used to average 55-60 mpg) this one I'm lucky if I get 27-30 mpg). Anyhow, now, it very occassionally just cuts out (dealers can't identify a fault!!!), so I am getting a 2007 Skoda Roomster next week. Smaller engine, more MPG, not everyone's cup of tea I know, but it will do for me and the dogs, and it'll be newest (11 months old) car I will ever be able to afford, and, I have a GOOD feeling about this one, like I did with my Octavia. Wish me happy and safe driving please!
I hopefully pick it up next Friday!

I hope you enjoy your new car.  We looked at the Roomster but in the end we went for a Laguna Estate, with two teenage children and two big dogs we thought we'd have more room with the Laguna, but still liked the Roomster.  Kids are getting older and come out with us less now so may think about one next time.

I love the Roomsters, they look so funky!!  I've never had a Skoda myself but i have driven them as a friend swears by them and has done for years.

Yukkk i'd of left the Fabia there as well, mustard no way!!!

Have fun in the Roomster ;-)

We are test driving one this week too. We have a Fabia 1.9 TDI at the moment and love it, we are trading in out other car (Corsa). The mustard inside is grim and to make matters worse, I actually chose that colour - I bitterly regret it now of course!

If you can get passed the fact its a 'Skoda' :-) then you cant go wrong. I would rather have an Aston Martin but i would also have to win the lottery!
